It's All in the Detail

Details are important. It's what makes a wedding unique to you. They can be personalised, they can be handed down, but it's always meaningful and that's why I love photographing them.
Whether it's the dress that took months to find after trying on tens of others, or your Grandma's broach she wore for her wedding, it's something I imagine my couples look back on and quietly reflect.
As a documentary photographer capturing fleeting moments, I find it a little odd photographing still objects sometimes but there's often a natural break point whilst I'm with the bridal party getting ready (normally when the dresses are being put on!) where I grab everything important to the bride and find a nice area to shoot them.
Some details are so touching that they actually stop me in my tracks and force me to compose myself - an example is the photo at the bottom of this page where Becky's Grandma pulled me aside to show me a photo of her late husband - Becky's Grandad - attached to Becky's bouquet. I managed to get the photo, but it was through watery eyes!
